What GIF Labs is

GIF Labs is a set of web tools for making animated GIFs. Most of them run entirely in your browser: you pick files, adjust the result, and download it, without uploading anything for conversion. For ideas that start from text, there are AI tools that generate animation for you.

Local tools: free, nothing uploaded

These tools are free, need no account, and process your files on your own device:

• Meme GIF Maker — add text and captions to images, GIFs, or WebP files, choose which frames show each caption, and export a meme GIF.
• Images to GIF — arrange PNG, JPG, or WebP images, set the time per frame and the loop, and create a GIF.
• Convert & Compress — trim a video into a GIF, switch between GIF and WebP, or reduce a GIF's dimensions and frame rate to make it lighter.

AI tools: sign-in and credits

These tools send your request to an AI model, so they need an account and use credits (see Pricing):

• AI GIF Generator — describe a motion, or add a reference image, and get a looping GIF.
• AI Sprite Sheets — generate game character sprite sheets from text or a reference image, as a 4×4 atlas or an eight-frame horizontal strip, exported as PNG.

How your files are handled

• Local tools process the files you choose in your browser. They are not uploaded for conversion.
• AI tools upload any reference image you add and send it, together with your prompt, to the model provider that creates the result. Your generation history and results are saved to your account.
